We have launched secured version of sMoneybox based on HTTPS. If you require secured access to our application, you can use now https://www.smoneybox.com.
We have also released specification and documentation of the web service for adding new records. Thus the community could participate in the development of alternative clients, e.g. for Linux or mobile devices. The documentation could be found here. You can address your questions to our forum.
In connection with that we have also introduced a new version 1.1 of our client which implements some minor improvements and uses HTTPS as well.

We’re very happy to announce some news about sMoney. As you may have noticed the project name has been changed to sMoneybox. Project sMoney.EU is no longer official name, and is replaced with sMoneybox. You can find it on www.smoneybox.com (original address www.smoney.eu is and will be still available). That’s all about project name itself, no other significant changes has been made.
Now let’s have a look at new features, that are available just now:
As you can see, we are still developing new features. We also hope, that all new functions and features are the right things to make you more comfortable about using the sMoneybox so you can recommend it to all your friends.

You can now use sMoney.EU everywhere you want to. It’s easy with our new mobile version of sMoney.EU. You can find it on page http://www.smoney.eu/mini
This simplified version allows so far adding new records and brief reports only. It doesn’t contain graphs due to small amount of data tranfer.

Because of nonstop development on sMoney.EU, we would like to introduce you new pack of features that have just been released.
First of all we did new desing!
But if you like the previous one, you can choose in profile screen which one you want to use.
Another feature to make you more comfortable is The Reminder. It will remind you, that you havent’t logged in for certain amount of time, that you can of course set by yourselfs. It might be a good tool for people with bad memory, so you won’t forget to add new spendings.
Very useful feature has been also added – Regular payments. it allows you to add once a repeated payment, that will occur every day/week/month in exact day. You can also specify your own period.
First new graphs have been released to show you some statistics data, but we will add more and more.
New translastions have been made, so that will also please more users.
Finally you can use simple calculations when adding new spendings. For example 2×20, system will automatically resolve it as 40.
There are much more features in progress, so meantime please use sMoney.EU and add more and more spendings, so we can have motivation to bring new features to help you to show your spendings in different point of views.

You may have propably noticed, that new sMoney.EU language translation has been done – the Russian translation. We’re very grateful to Eugene Bolshakov”, thanks a lot, you’ve done a great work !!! We believe that it will bring better world knowledge about sMoney.EU and more user friendly environment for all Russian language speaking people.
Our team is very grateful to such an effort, that has been given to us. We would like to ask everyone, that can help with any translation, not to hesitate and let us know. If you’re familiar with language you want to translate sMoney.EU into (from English languate into yours), it won’t take you much time, but it will help many people.

sMoney.EU project idea was born almost a year ago, when we released early beta version of sÚčto.CZ (simple online accounting system). Few friends of mine mentioned sÚčto.CZ as useful tool for businessmen, but they wanted something else. They wanted something simple to records home expenses – just outcome and income. These days almost everyone has internet connection at home, in work or even in mobile phones, so such an application must be online through web browser.
Because of high work load of our development team we have delayed this application, but the time being we were thinking more and more about it, and finally we have decided to make it happen. During the Ostrava on Rails 2007 conference, that we have organized together with Ostrava Science & Technology park, the decision was made. This first czech and Eastern Europe conference was about Ruby and Ruby on Rails. During the conference, where Jamis Buck, Tobias Lutke, Saimon Moore, Tim Lossen, Luke Francl and many other well known Rails contributors were participated, the idea was transferred into real plan – sMoney.EU
In the beginning we came up with 3 basic ideas:In my opinion I think well done, but we want more. The project will be constantly developed (see the section We are preparing? on page About), we will add more and more language translations and we are ready to make your wishes real if possible. So if anyone has any suggestion, register to sMoney.EU forum and put it there. We will inform the public about current development progress in this blog so we believe to make the project perfect to use.
